Ligpo Pinnacle
Protected wall to 35 m with fan corals and giant trevally

A wall dive just off Ligpo Island, north of the Anilao resorts and inside the Bauwan Marine Sanctuary. Depths run from 12 to 35 metres down the face, which is covered in fan corals, and giant trevally move along it. Most divers reach it on a traditional outrigger from Anilao Pier, about twenty minutes up the coast.

The dive
The boat drops you off Ligpo Island and the dive is worked down and along the wall, with depths of 12 to 35 metres to choose from. Deep first is the sensible order here, because the fan corals are abundant along the face and there is no reason to spend early bottom time shallow. Hold a level, follow the wall, and let the profile step up as the dive goes on.
The reason to look off the wall as well as into it is the giant trevally, whose unusual movement along the face is what the site is known for. Around them is the typical fish life of the tropics, and the whole dive sits inside the Bauwan Marine Sanctuary. Finish on the shallow end of the wall at 12 metres and make the ascent along the face rather than out in open water.
