Towers of rock and posidonia meadow from 6 m to 28 m

Punta de las Ánimas is an easy point dive on big towers of rock mixed with posidonia meadow, running from 6 m down to 28 m. It is dived at every level of training, and the shape of the ground suits a multilevel profile: take the depth early, then step back up through the rock on the way to the boat, watching the blue for whatever is passing.

The dive
The site is built out of big towers of rock with posidonia meadow between them, and the range from 6 m to 28 m gives you the whole of it in a single dive. Drop onto the deeper ground first, where the towers stand clear of the meadow, and work along their bases — this is the part of the dive that spends gas fastest, so it belongs at the start rather than the end.
Turning back towards the boat, let the ground set the ascent: the depth bands step up in stages, and a gradual multilevel profile through them is how the local operator dives it. Bream and mackerel are along the rock with the odd grouper, and it is worth looking away from the structure into the blue, where pelagic fish pass. The last of the dive is shallow enough that the safety stop takes care of itself.
