The most popular dive site in Protaras: a shallow bay with easy entry and exit, used for first dives, Discover Scuba and courses. The bottom slopes from 2 to 10 m over rock, sand and seagrass, with a park of stone columns and Greek-style statues at 9 m and old pottery fused into the rocks.
Also known as Green Bay 1.

The dive
Entry is from the beach or by a giant stride from the boat dock, and the bottom slopes gradually from 2 m to 10 m over rock and sand with patches of seagrass. The easy entry and exit make the bay the training ground for Discover Scuba, first dives and courses, and thousands of first-time divers have practised their skills among its statues.
At 9 m stands a park of stone columns and ancient-looking Greek statues, a regular photo stop. Encrusted old pottery is fused into the rocks, with amphora shards scattered nearby. Turtles, octopus, barracuda, seahorses, groupers, moray eels, bream and squid are all recorded, and the bay is also a common choice for night dives.
