The dive
Entry is from a sandy beach that is not usually crowded, into a bay protected by a breakwater. The shallows are sand, and the bottom then turns to stone on the way out to the site's maximum depth of 8 m. The easy, shallow entry and the shelter of the breakwater make it a place for Bubble Maker programmes, Discover Scuba dives and training courses.
Trumpetfish, pipefish, squid, cuttlefish, barrel snails, crabs and soldierfish are often seen over the sand and stones, and turtles sometimes pass through the bay. The protected, shallow water also makes it a regular choice for night dives, with the breakwater keeping the bay sheltered for entries and exits from the beach.
