The Voilier is a wreck on the south side of the Sound at Chausey, lying on a sand bottom at 38 m. A drop-off lies close by, so the dive can pair the hull with a stretch of wall. The depth makes it a dive for experienced deep divers.
Also known as Le Voilier.
Where it is and how deep

The dive
The Voilier lies on the far side of the Sound from the Anvers, which sits to the east of the islands; the Voilier is to the south, on a sand bottom at 38 m. That depth leaves little bottom time on air, so the dive is planned around a short visit to the hull before the ascent begins.
Not far from the wreck is a drop-off, so the dive can take in the wall as well as the hull. At Chausey the drop-offs are hung with laminaria kelp, and the currents between the islands run continuously.

Know before you go
- At 38 m, bottom time on air is short and narcosis is a factor; plan the dive and the ascent before descending.
- Strong tidal currents run through the islands; the dive must be timed to the tide.
