Rose Wall is a wall dive on the Cocos (Keeling) atoll, named for the solid stand of Montipora coral that covers its face. The reef top sits at 7 m and the drop-off starts close in at 14 m, with coral cover running down to at least 30 m and reaching 40 m in places.

The dive
You descend straight from the boat onto the reef top, which is only 7 m down, so the first minutes are shallow and unhurried while the group sorts itself out. The drop-off is close in from there and begins at 14 m, a short swim across the reef top rather than a long transit, which keeps the useful part of the dive within easy reach of the entry.
Over the edge, the wall carries the Montipora stand the site is named for: a continuous face of coral covering the rock down to at least 30 m, and as deep as 40 m where the wall runs deepest. Most of the dive works along that face at whatever depth your plan allows, and there is no need to go deep to see it, because the formation starts within a few metres of the drop-off at 14 m.
Come back up onto the reef top to finish. At 7 m it makes a long, comfortable safety stop and an easy place to spend the tail of the dive, which matters on an atoll with no recompression chamber and a long flight to any evacuation. The site is listed as a good dive for newer and experienced divers alike, and the shallow reef top is why: the depth you take on here is a choice rather than a requirement.

Questions divers ask
How deep is Rose Wall?+
The reef top is at 7 m and the drop-off starts at 14 m. The Montipora coral covers the wall down to at least 30 m and reaches 40 m in some sections, so the depth you actually dive is set by your plan and certification rather than by the site.
Is Rose Wall suitable for new divers?+
The dive-guide listing calls it a good dive for both new and experienced divers. The 7 m reef top and the drop-off at 14 m mean a newer diver can dive the shallow half of the site properly, while the coral face below 18 m needs Advanced-level training.
