Ruined jetty that serves as a nursery for baby fish

The Jetty is the ruin of an old jetty on the north side of St. George's Island, lying broken on a sandy bottom. The wreckage has become a nursery for baby fish, and its shallow depth makes it an ideal site for intro dives.

The dive
The dive stays between 4 and 10 m over sand dotted with patches of rock and encrusting coral. Many sea cucumbers and shrimp gobies live on the sand, and lots of fish crowd around the broken jetty itself, where the young ones shelter.
