Goda Gala
Blue boxfish, morays and lobsters on a deep drift past the rock
Goda Gala is a rock off Hikkaduwa dived as a deep drift, with a maximum depth of 24 m. It is one of the regular boat dives from town, and the rock holds blue boxfish, moray eels and lobsters among the usual reef fish.

The dive
Goda Gala is dived as a deep drift, with the dive bottoming out at 24 m. Large boulders litter the seabed, giving the site the look of an alien planet. Blue boxfish, moray eels and lobsters hide among them, and snappers and barracuda roam the area.

Season follows Hikkaduwa: The west-coast season runs from October to April; from May to September the main centres dive from Trincomalee instead.
