Maguey Bay in Huatulco offers three different dives. Beginners stay on a sandy patch where seahorses live, Open Water divers take an 18 m (60 ft) route through zigzagging rocks and canyons, and divers with a deep specialty go out to The Point, which reaches 40 m (130 ft) and holds red snapper and amberjacks.

The dive
Maguey Bay has three different dive options, set by experience. Beginners can dive a sandy area where seahorses live. The other two options are for more experienced Open Water divers and for divers with a deep diving specialty, so the rocks and The Point are left to them.
More experienced Open Water divers take the 18 m (60 ft) dive, following zigzagging rocks and canyons. Divers with a deep diving specialty can instead go to The Point, which reaches 40 m (130 ft). Red snapper and amberjacks are the fish to look for at that depth.
