The dive
The boat runs five miles out from Isla Cristina to a zone of broad rock slabs on the seabed. The slabs are set so that the gaps between them form corridors at 15 m, and the dive follows these passages through the rock. The deepest point of the dive is 22 m.
The corridors are where the fish shelter. Meagre, the corvinas that give the site its name, are the most striking species, along with red and white gorgonians on the rock and large schools of fish. A torch shown into the cracks along the corridor walls picks out conger eels, moray eels and lobsters.
