The dive
The site lies four miles off the coast in front of Casa del Palo, on a sand bottom with a maximum depth of 16 m. Instead of one reef, Willy is an area of many small slabs of rock with flat tops, each standing apart from the next on the sand, so the dive moves from one slab to another across the bottom.
Each slab is explored around its edges, where cracks and holes run under the rock. Conger eels and moray eels hide in them, along with lobsters of a good size, and checking one slab after another is how the fauna is found. The dive is rated as suitable for beginners who want to see marine life, and Bucear Huelva describes it as calm and full of life.
