Isla de Sa Galera
A holed wall from a 5 m platform down to 30 m

A small islet north of Es Vedrà, dived as a wall. The descent lands on a platform at about 5 metres and the rock runs from there down to 30 metres, its face broken by an endless number of holes. Moray eels and octopus live in them, and yellow anemones and sponges give the wall the colour the site is dived for.

The dive
The dive starts on a platform at about 5 metres on the islet north of Es Vedrà. From there it is a straightforward descent of the wall, following the rock down until you reach 30 metres, then turning and working back up the same face a level shallower rather than pushing along at depth. The platform at about 5 metres is where the dive begins.
What makes the wall worth the ride out is how broken it is. There is an infinite number of holes in it, with moray eels and octopus in them, so the dive rewards a slow pass close to the rock rather than distance covered. Yellow anemones and sponges hold the colour, and the shallow platform at the top gives an unhurried safety stop on the site itself.
