Mirmigi Reef
A shallow labyrinth of volcanic corridors for the safety stop
Mirmigi Reef is a large volcanic reef five minutes by boat from Petra, in north-western Lesbos. A small canyon with a swim-through cave, a meadow of peacock worms and a maze of shallow corridors give it varied topography, and currents are usually absent.
Also known as Myrmigi Reef, Myrmigi, Mirmigi.

The dive
The dive starts at 5 m on volcanic rock, and the reef falls away to 36 m. A small canyon holds a cave that can be swum through and exited on the far side, or simply circled from outside.
Heading anticlockwise, the reef shows many nudibranchs, lobsters and moray eels, then a meadow scattered with short, rare peacock worms. The dive ends in a mini labyrinth of underwater corridors at about 6 m, which serves as the safety stop.

Questions divers ask
Does Mirmigi Reef have currents?+
Usually not. The reef still continues down to 36 m, so depth rather than water movement sets the level of this dive.
