Middle Finger

Middle Finger, also known as Ras il-Hobz, is a rock needle rising from deep water off Gozo, with a wall and an open view over it into the blue. The pinnacle draws a good mix of fish, from jacks and dentex in open water to moray eels and lobsters in the rock.

The dive
The pinnacle rises from more than 40 m to around 10 m below the surface, with a wall on its flank that looks out into the blue. Jacks, dentex and moray eels gather around the needle, and barracuda and lobsters can be found in the rock face.

Season follows Malta & Gozo: Jun–Sep is the main season, with the sea averaging 21–26 °C; it never drops below 14 °C, so diving carries on through the winter.
