Kasai Wall
Coral shelf, a wall to 40 m, and a 140 m cave at its foot

A shallow coral shelf north of Panagsama that ends at a reef edge, with a wall below it dropping to about 40 m. Hundreds of coral species cover the shallow end and hold critters, reef fish and turtles, and at the foot of the wall there is an entrance to Kasai Cave, which runs roughly 140 m into the rock.

The dive
Start on the shallow end, which is the part of the site most divers actually come for. The coral cover here runs to many hundreds of species, and that density is what holds everything else: small critters in the branches, reef fish over the top of it, and sea turtles working through the shallows at whatever pace they like. It is a slow section, worth most of the dive if you are shooting.
The shelf then ends at a reef edge, and over that edge the wall forms and drops to about 40 m. Swimming the face gives the other half of the site, a clean vertical view back up towards the shallows with the coral shelf as a ceiling of sorts. Depth builds fast once you are over the lip, so this is the point to set a floor and hold it rather than following the face down.
At the bottom of the wall is the entrance to Kasai Cave, which stretches roughly 140 m into the rock. That is an overhead environment at the deep end of the dive, and nothing about it is a recreational add-on: without cave training and the right gear, the entrance is a feature to look at from outside. Turn back up the wall, regain the shelf, and finish the dive in the shallow coral.

Know before you go
- Kasai Cave runs about 140 m in from the base of the wall. It is a true overhead environment at the deepest point of the dive; without cave training and dedicated gear, stay outside the entrance.
