Small wreck off Öland's northern tip, one of the strait's best shore dives

Neptuni åkrar lies almost at the northern tip of Öland and ranks among the best shore dives in Kalmarsund. Divers go for a small wreck on the bottom and for water that usually stays clear, thanks to the favourable bottom conditions at the site.

The dive
From the shore the dive heads out to a small wreck, the main part of which lies at 15 m. Flatfish and sculpins are usually plentiful at the site, so the dive mixes the wreck with the life on the seabed around it.

Season follows Öland & the Kalmar Strait: The sea is painfully cold from January to April; boat trips into the strait still run in early October.
