Pared Bitxon

A deep start at the foot of the wall

Pared Bitxon is one of the Santo Antão wall dives, a deep profile that starts at the bottom of the route and climbs back along the wall edge. It runs a little deeper than Hanging Garden, and divers come for the wall itself and for the open water alongside it.

The dive

A sandy descent leads to the point where the wall drops at 33 m. From that turn the dive becomes a slow climb up the wall edge, with divers watching out into the blue for passing life until they reach the shallows.
