Hanging Garden is a wall dive off Santo Antão whose face is covered in gorgonians and black coral. Divers come for the coral-hung wall and for whatever may appear in the open blue beside it, on a profile that starts at its deepest point and works upward.

The dive
The descent runs over sand and rock until the wall drops away at 30 m. From there divers begin a slow ascent along the edge of the wall, its face thick with gorgonians and black coral, and keep one eye on the blue for whatever passes.
