Arches and life-covered walls, finishing in a cave at 8 m

La Bramassa is one of the most popular dives on this coast, and the depth is much of the reason: an average of 12 m, numerous arches and walls full of life along the way, and a finish inside a large cave whose entrance is at only 8 m. It is shallow enough to be accessible to all levels and structured enough to hold a full dive.

The dive
The dive runs along the rock at an average of about 12 m, past numerous arches and walls full of life. That average is the working depth for most of the dive, which is why the site is described as accessible to all levels; at 12 m it is usually gas rather than the computer that decides when to turn, and the arches and the walls carry the whole of the dive.
It finishes in the cave. The entrance is at 8 m — shallower than the water that leads to it — so the last stage of the dive is also its shallowest: a large chamber entered with plenty of gas in hand and a short way back to the surface above. That combination of simplicity and a cave at the end is why the site is dived as often as it is.

Season follows Capo Caccia & Nereo Cave: May–Oct is the settled season; winter mistral and north-westerlies make the exposed cape unworkable for weeks at a time.

- The finish is an overhead, however shallow. Follow the guide in with a torch and keep the entrance in sight rather than treating the chamber as open water.
