Cala Pedrosa
A 70 m tunnel straight through the islet, lit at both ends

A tunnel about 70 m long, completely straight, wide and high, driven right through the Pedrosa islet, with the light in and out in sight the whole way. The entrance is at 1 m where the surface forms a crack, or at 16 m on the west side; the exit on the east side is at 21 m, and the site runs to 33 m.

The dive
The tunnel through the island of Pedrosa is about 70 m long, completely straight, very wide and high, and the operator's own verdict is that it presents no difficulty. You find the entrance at 1 m, where the surface forms a crack, or at 16 m on the west side of the island; either way the light at both ends stays in sight the whole way through.
The walls are plastered with coral, sponges and anemones, backlit by the two openings, and corvallos, bream, sea fans and coral are on the dive throughout. Coming out on the east side the tunnel reaches 21 m. From there the more experienced turn the island on their left, and divers who have done the tunnel before can go on down to the coralligenous blocks below 30 m.

Season follows Costa Brava: Water runs from about 13 °C in February to 25 °C in July and August; no L'Escala centre publishes closing months, and the tramuntana can keep boats in port in any month.
