Pecio 19
A conger with cleaner shrimps in an old fishing boat's stern tube
A wall dive north of Tabarca, outside the marine reserve, where a seagrass platform at 12 m drops to 19 m. The broken remains of old fishing boats lie in a sand clearing below, and the site doubles as the closing dive of entry-level courses and as a night dive.

The dive
The dive starts on a wide platform covered in Posidonia seagrass at 12 m, which drops to 19 m and leaves a long wall full of life. The usual route follows the wall from south to north, searching its many nooks and crannies. The site lies north of Tabarca, outside the marine reserve, over a seabed of sand, seagrass and rock.
In one of the sand clearings rest the remains of old fishing boats, worn down by time until little boat shape is left, but holding a wide range of life. A conger eel lives in the stern tube of one of them, attended by small shrimps that clean its mouth and sharing its home with other small crustaceans. Experienced divers dive it too, and the site also suits night dives.
