Sarang Lang

The boat drops you off the southwestern tip of the island and you descend onto the top of the slope at about 9 m. The terrain is a gentle incline broken by rocky outcrops and coral bommies, with no wall to orient on, so the guide leads the group down the slope on a set heading, keeping the shallower ground on one side, until the depth planned for the group; the site bottoms out at 25 m, which puts the deep end beyond Open Water limits. A pinnacle lies further out from the slope, and whether the group goes out to it depends on the plan and the visibility on the day.

The return is the same route in reverse, back up the slope at a shallower depth so the profile is a gradual ascent rather than a square dive. Finish over the top of the slope at the shallow end for the safety stop and surface to the boat. Reported visibility here is modest, around 5 to 12 m depending on the month, so stay close to the guide and the bommies rather than swimming out over open ground. Ask the resort what the current is doing before you choose it over the better-documented reefs.
