The Maverick
A scuttled car ferry with its top deck at 18 m
The Maverick is an old passenger and car ferry scuttled off Rocky Point at Mount Irvine as a dive site, and of the three wrecks around Tobago it is the one usually considered the best. Its top deck sits at 18 m and the bottom beside it lies at 33 m.
Also known as Maverick, Maverick Ferry.

The dive
Divers descend onto the top deck of the ferry at 18 m (60 ft), the shallowest part of the wreck, and explore the hull below it, which reaches the bottom at 33 m (100 ft). Schooling fish swirl around the upper deck, and coral grows thick on the railings and the anchor chain.
The ferry was sunk for divers, so all its doors and windows were removed first, and light penetration is possible. Advanced open-water divers count it a favourite.
