Delsan Wreck

The dive starts shallow. The reef top at 5 metres is flat ground to cross before the terrain begins to tilt, and from there the reef slopes gently out toward the edge of the wall at 23 metres. How much of that ground you cover is decided by how hard the water is moving on the day rather than by any fixed route: the published description of this site is largely a description of its current.

The wall edge is where the fish are. Dog-toothed tuna, great barracuda and giant trevally patrol it, whitetip reef sharks work the reef, and hammerheads and tiger sharks turn up often enough to be listed among the regulars. A large crack in the reef known as The Cut is the other feature to look into, where grey reef sharks hunt schooling fish in the open.

A crevasse at the wall edge cuts down to 40 metres, and that is what divers use when the flow turns raging, dropping into it so the reef sits between them and the water. The slope back up to the reef top is where the dive is finished off. Diving in the park is liveaboard-only, and the tender picks divers up wherever the drift has left them.
