Licong
A drift wall rated for beginners through advanced divers

Licong is a drift along a wall, with a plateau at around 4 m on top and a drop-off running from its edge down to 30 m. It is one of the more forgiving sites on this coast: guides rate it for everyone from beginners to advanced divers, because the depth you dive it at is entirely your own choice.

The dive
The plateau on top sits at around 4 m, shallow enough that the reef stays lit and easy to see, and the drop-off starts at its outer edge and runs down to 30 m. The site is normally run as a drift: in at one end, settle at whatever depth suits the group, then let the water move you along the face instead of swimming the length of it under your own power.
That is what makes it flexible. Newer divers can hold the top of the wall and still watch the whole of it go past, while anyone with the certification for it can drop down the face, and both groups drift the same stretch of coast at the same time. The shallow plateau at the end of the run is the natural place to spend the last of the dive.

Season follows Anda: Nov–Jun is the main season; the south-west monsoon and typhoons make Jul–Oct unreliable on this exposed coast.
