Snapper's Cave
Turtles, frogfish and nudibranchs on a wall to 25 m

Snapper's Cave is a wall with a cave in it, running down to 25 m on the western end of the Anda coast. It suits both ends of a camera bag: turtles and the face itself for wide angle, nudibranchs and frogfish for macro, with the usual reef fish over the top of the reef.

The dive
As a dive it is straightforward: down onto the face, turn along it and work back. The wall runs to 25 m, which keeps the whole profile inside ordinary recreational limits and leaves enough bottom time to spend looking rather than covering ground. The cave the site is named for is recorded only as a feature in that wall, with nothing published about how far back it goes.
What you find on it is mixed. Turtles use this stretch of wall, and there are frogfish and nudibranchs on the face for anyone slow enough to spot them, with reef fish over the top. That mix is why the site is recommended for macro and wide angle both, and why it is worth deciding before you get in which lens you are diving, since it rewards either but not the two together.

Season follows Anda: Nov–Jun is the main season; the south-west monsoon and typhoons make Jul–Oct unreliable on this exposed coast.
