Katharinenhof, the shore site at the Fischerweg, is probably the best-known dive site on Fehmarn, and in summer it is often busy. It is an easy Baltic shore dive to about 7 m with little or no current, over a varied bottom of algae, sand, mussel beds, seagrass and kelp, scattered everywhere with mussel-covered boulders.

Also known as Fischerweg Katharinenhof.

The dive

The entry crosses pebbles and small and large stones into the Baltic, and depending on how long the dive lasts it reaches about 7 m. Flatfish, cod, garfish, goldsinny wrasse, gobies and pipefish live here, along with blue mussel colonies, crabs and starfish. To the left, fishermen often set gillnets at the mooring piles, in an area about 5 to 7 m deep.
