Sea mounts running from 7 m down to 40 m

A group of sea mounts northeast of Gili Meno stretching from 7 m at their tops down to 40 m, deeper than the island slopes that make up most of the diving here. The topography is the point rather than the coral or the fish, and the shallow ground sits inside recreational range while the base is well below it. Plans work the upper structure and leave the bottom alone.

The dive
The mounts sit northeast of Gili Meno and stretch from 7 m at their shallowest down to 40 m, so the first decision is where in that range the dive will be run. Most plans keep well above the base and use the tops, entering over the shallow structure and following it outward as the ground drops away underneath. The effect of swimming out over a summit and having the bottom disappear below you is what the site is dived for.
From there the route works along the line of the mounts, crossing the gaps between them and dropping down a flank only as far as the plan allows before climbing the next one. Because 40 m is available and easy to reach by accident, a hard turn depth agreed before entry matters more here than on the island slopes. Come back up the shallow end and finish on the 7 m ground, which gives a solid reference for the stop.

Season follows Gili Islands: Divable year-round; Apr–Nov brings the calmest crossings, and mola mola occasionally appear Aug–Oct on the deeper sites.
