Blocks of anemone and their clownfish on a shallow slope
Anemona City is a reef about 10 minutes by boat from Kizimkazi on the south coast of Zanzibar. A shallow coral plateau gives way to a slope that bottoms out at 15-17 m, which keeps it a short, shallow outing within easy reach of the village.

The dive
The boat anchors near a plateau about 4-5 m deep, already covered in corals small and large. Beyond it a slope runs from 7 m to a maximum of 15-17 m, past coral gardens and huge blocks of anemone with their clownfish. Pufferfish, boxfish, emperor fish, nudibranchs, surgeonfish and trumpetfish are all about.
