Kizidi Reef
A mini wall shallow enough for try-dives and snorkelling
Kizidi Reef is a mini wall off Kizimkazi on the south coast of Zanzibar, its top only 3-4 m below the surface. It suits first-time divers, Discover Scuba groups and snorkellers, while experienced divers come to search the wall for small life.

The dive
The wall begins at only three to four meters and slopes down to a sandy bottom at twelve to fifteen meters, where the sand keeps gently sloping away. Soft and hard corals and patches of sea grass hold big emperors, potato groupers, angelfish, black-spotted sweetlips, blue-spotted rays and the occasional turtle. Look closely for pipefish, leaf fish and nudibranchs, the Spanish dancer among them.
