Groupers Grotto
Massive groupers along a sloping wall
Groupers Grotto is a sloping wall dived by boat from Kizimkazi, falling to around 35 m before sand takes over. It takes its name from the groupers that live along it, some of them massive, and it makes a good drift dive.

The dive
Large groupers live along this wall, which falls away at an angle to around 35 meters before giving way to sand that keeps dropping gradually into deeper water. When a current is running, masses of fish school and feed at the top of the slope, big rays visit, and a blacktip reef shark may cruise by in the blue. It is a good site to drift.
