A lone palm on the shore marks a steep drift wall
One Palm Reef, Mnazi Mmoja in Swahili, is a steep sloping wall dived by boat from Kizimkazi, its top at about 12 m and its foot at 35 m. A lone palm on the shore marks the spot, and with the current running the dive turns into a fast drift.

The dive
The top of the wall lies at approximately 12 meters. From there it slopes steeply down to 35 meters, where the sandy bottom gently slopes away, and divers ride the current along the face when it is running. Many kinds of grouper live on the wall alongside Napoleon wrasse, and green turtles show up now and then.
