Tindiji Reef
A coral garden at 4-6 m above a sandy slope
Tindiji Reef is a shallow coral garden dived from the fishing village of Kizimkazi on the south coast of Zanzibar. Coral covers the top at 4-6 m before the reef slopes off to sand at 10-12 m, so the dive stays shallow.

The dive
Healthy hard corals form a coral garden at four to six meters, then the reef slopes away to a sandy bottom at ten to twelve meters. Moorish idols, butterflyfish, trumpetfish and angelfish shelter in the coral, and with a closer look and some luck there are pipefish, electric and blue-spotted rays, ribbon eels, cleaner shrimp and moray eels.
