Arima
Goatfish that let divers settle on the sand beside them
Arima is a Kozushima boat dive where life-covered rocks give way to a vast white sandy area at about 12 m (39 ft), and the site reaches 20 m. Goatfish rest on the sand in a small shoal and tolerate a close approach, while Christmas tree worms and red lionfish live on the shallower rocks.

The dive
The shallow rocks at about 8 m (26 ft) are awash with life, with numerous Christmas tree worms, red lionfish, boxfish and pufferfish, and a torch picks out baby eels in their holes. Further down at about 12 m (39 ft) lies a vast sandy area, and around a corner of the rock a small shoal of goatfish rests on the sand and stays put as divers swim over them or settle alongside.
