Meersburg Plätzle
A stepped, broken wall with large pike close to the ferry lane

Plätzle is a Meersburg shore dive on a stepped wall that drops to 22 m and runs out onto a slope, with many niches where fish gather. It sits beside the Meersburg–Konstanz ferry route, so it is a site for experienced divers who navigate carefully, and large pike turn up here with some luck.
Also known as Plätzle, Plaetzle.

The dive
The wall falls in steps to 22 m and then turns into a slope, its ledges full of niches where fish hang. Large pike are seen here on lucky days. Anyone heading out toward the middle of the lake carries a compass and keeps the bearing, because the dive has to come back to the shore rather than end in open water.

Season follows Lake Constance: Diving runs all year; guided dives run from April to October, while December and January bring char and eels to the Parkhaus Post overhang.
Know before you go
- Surfacing in open water is life-threatening: the ferries pass very close and are far stronger than any diver.
- Diving is completely forbidden in the ferry harbour next to the site.
