Fænø Kalv is a small uninhabited island in the southern part of Snævringen, just south of the entrance to Kolding Fjord, dived by boat. Its gravel slopes stay within 14 m and hold turbot and hermit crabs, and a strong tide is possible.
Also known as Faenoe Kalv.

The dive
The diving differs around the island. The northeastern side is a steep slope of gravel, sand and mussels where flatfish hide, especially turbot, and hermit crabs are active at dusk. The opposite side has scattered seaweed belts and rocks with fish that keep to reefs. The tide almost always runs here, so a calm dive takes some planning.

Know before you go
- A strong tide is possible, and difficult, sometimes unpredictable tides can change the visibility.
- Large and small rocks are scattered around the island, so boats approach it slowly.
