Marigondon Blue Hole
A blue opening in the wall at 25–27 m, depending on the tide

The Blue Hole is the wall dive off Marigondon where an opening in the rock shows at 25 to 27 metres, the exact figure depending on the tide. It is dived as a wall-to-hole route for advanced divers, and the ground around the opening carries corals and the macro subjects this coast is worked for, along with turtles, jacks and octopus.

The dive
The route runs the Marigondon wall, and the opening is what the dive is built around: it appears somewhere between 25 and 27 metres, and which of those it is depends on the tide on the day. That is a deep start, and it is why the site is written up for advanced divers rather than kept in the course rotation. Teams descend the face and work toward the mouth of the hole.
Around the opening the wall carries corals, and the site is named on the same page for its macro photography, so the dive divides into two kinds of looking: the blue mouth itself, and the small work on the rock beside it. Turtles, wrasse, jacks, trumpetfish and octopus are the animals listed here. Bottom time is short at that depth, so most teams work the hole and its surroundings, then finish shallow along the wall.

Season follows Mactan & Olango: Mar–May, the hot dry season, is the usual window; the Jun–Nov rains cut visibility on the house reefs, and typhoon risk runs highest around Nov–Dec, as Typhoon Rai showed in December 2021.
