Powoni is a set of three outer-reef dive sites off Paje and Jambiani: Powoni North, Powoni Hill and Powoni South. Table corals are their signature, crowded with sweetlips, unicornfish and many other reef species, and the occasional pelagic passes along the outside of the reef.

The dive
Each of the three sites, North, Hill and South, is a separate drift between 9 m and 30 m. The route follows the table corals, where schools of sweetlips and unicornfish gather, with scorpionfish and octopus hiding in the corals and under the shells. The group keeps watching the blue side for a passing pelagic while the boat tracks the bubbles.
