Grotta di Mitigliano is a cavern about 80 m long in the north wall of Mitigliano bay, named for a Roman lord. It never goes deeper than 15 m, and divers come for the long passage, an air pocket partway in and a rare dark-loving fish.
Also known as Mitigliano cave.

The dive
The entrance lies between 6 and 15 m and is about 3 m wide. After the first 20 m of passage a vertical shaft rises to a pocket of breathable air. The cavern runs on for about 80 m in all, and in its darkness lives Oligopus ater, a very rare fish that shuns light like the creatures of the abyss.
