Maehama
A shallow, weak-current dive 4 minutes from the harbour

Maehama is a boat site 4 minutes from Horomui harbour, with a bottom of 13 m and a weak current. The seabed is a large rock shelf of columnar jointing, and the point is used for try dives and night dives, which makes it a gentle dive within easy reach of the harbour.

The dive
The boat reaches the site in about 4 minutes from Horomui harbour. The seabed is a large rock shelf of columnar jointing, and the bottom reaches 13 m at the deepest. The current is weak, and the point is used for try dives and night dives.

Season follows Shakotan Peninsula: Diving runs all year; July to September is the best season for fish and visibility, while the colder months bring the sea lions.
