The Zielplattformen are sunken torpedo target platforms lying deep in the Tollensesee, looking like huge floating jetties settled on the bed. They are the deepest of the dives the local club lists, dark and often murky, and divers come for the fittings still standing on the pontoon.

The dive
The platforms lie at about 25 m, one of them at 27 m. On one, a pontoon of roughly 42 x 5 m, the signal and auxiliary rudder gear, railings, bollards, planking and other superstructure are still in place. Darkness, frequently poor visibility and the depth make the dive a demanding one, and photography is hard down here.

Season follows Tollensesee & Neubrandenburg: No month stands out: dives run on weekends, summer water reaches 20 to 24 °C, and in winter the deep water falls to about 4 °C.
Know before you go
- Munitions lie around the platforms; nothing should be touched.
- Below about 15 m the lake goes completely dark and the bottom is hard to make out in the murky water.
