Batu Ringgit is a varied shore site on the Tulamben coast where stepped ridges of reef run down from the shallows. Coral heads, sponges and soft coral give way to crevices and ridges deeper down, with a small cave on the way, and the gorgonian fans hide leaf scorpionfish and pygmy seahorses.

The dive
From the shore the dive starts on a slope covered in healthy coral heads, sponges and soft corals, with stepped ridges of reef beginning at 3 m. Around 14 m a small cave opens into the reef, running 5-6 m deep.
The deeper the dive goes, the more the terrain shifts into crevices, ridges and steep contours, and the ridges continue down to around 40 m. Close inspection of the gorgonian fans turns up leaf scorpionfish, nudibranchs and the occasional pygmy seahorse.

Season follows Tulamben: Diveable all year. April to July and October to November give the calmest, clearest water; December to March is the rainy season, with more run-off and fewer divers.
