Noisy Reef is a small reef at Seraya, a short distance south of Tulamben, named for the cracking noise of the young fish that live on it. It is a miniature version of a coral garden, with rocks topped by small hard corals and sponges between stretches of sand, and suits a relaxed shallow dive.

The dive
The reef starts about 20 m offshore and measures roughly 50 by 200 m, running from the surface to about 12 m. Rocks covered in small hard corals and sponges alternate with sand, and schools of juvenile blue triggerfish hover above the hard coral, ducking into the nearest hole when a diver comes close.
