A cave site on the Vis coast with two caves at different depths, one at 30 metres and a shallower one at 10. A beam of daylight falls on a green stone inside, which is where the name comes from, and the site is reached by boat and visited by sightseers as well as divers.

The dive
The site is reached by boat and it is a busy one, popular for sightseeing as much as for diving. There are two caves here, a shallower one at 10 metres and a deeper one at 30, so the dive can be run either as a short look inside the upper one or as a deeper profile that takes the lower one first and finishes shallow. Which way round depends on the group and on how many other boats are working the site.
The light is the reason to come. A beam of daylight enters and strikes a green stone inside, which is what gives the cave its name and what most people on the boat have come to see. The rock around it is the pale Adriatic karst that shapes the rest of the island's seabed, stepped and undercut. Keep your fins clear of the floor and the water inside stays clear for the divers behind you.

- Both caves are overhead environments: a light each and a clear route back to daylight are the minimum, and silt lifted off the floor fouls the exit for everyone following.
