Scogliu — listed by Corsica Sub under the name A Scorpina — is a wild patch of rocky relief between 26 and 38 m near Bastia, cut through with tunnels and faults. The faults shelter grouper, conger, corb, slipper lobsters and scorpionfish, and the water over the site is often very clear.

The dive
This is a no-reference descent onto rocks that start at 26 m and drop to 38 m, so the dive begins with a committed drop and ends with a blue-water ascent. Once on the relief the route follows the structure: tunnels and faults cut through the rock, and the life concentrates in exactly those openings — grouper and conger holed up in the faults, corb hanging close to the rock, scorpionfish sitting out on the ledges and slipper lobsters tucked into the cracks.
The fixed life is worth slowing down for: anemones, sponges and neptune's lace grow across the rock faces. The water here is often very clear, which makes the depth deceptive — plan the profile before the dive, since the whole site sits below 26 m and no-stop times at 38 m are short. Corsica Sub asks for French Level 2 or PE40 as the minimum grade.
