A long rock tube runs straight through the cape

A wall and cavern dive a short walk from the shore below Paleokastritsa's monastery, its rock riddled with caves and tunnels. The wall carries on well past recreational depths to 42 m, but the main circuit averages around 15 m in water that is usually clearer than 30 m, with normally no current at all.

The dive
Entry is from the shore, less than five minutes' walk away, and there is normally no current to work against. The site sits under the headland by the Paleokastritsa monastery, and the diving is on the rock itself: a wall face with cave openings, and an average depth of about 15 m for the main circuit in water that is usually clearer than 30 m.
The signature feature is a long tube that passes clean through the cape — a swim-through rather than a true cave, but an overhead section all the same, so treat it with cavern discipline and good buoyancy. Beyond the tube the wall carries on down to a maximum of 42 m; stay shallow along the face unless you are trained and planned for the deeper section, then finish back along the wall to the easy shore exit.
