Secca del Capo
Large groupers living in a rockfall of boulders on an open-sea shoal
An offshore shoal a few miles from the coast of Salina, with its top at 14 m and a descent into blue water to 36 m. Large dentex and tuna patrol it, sharks and even dolphins turn up at times, and a rockfall of big boulders on one side holds large groupers. It is a fairly demanding dive.

The dive
Divers reach the cap of the shoal at only 14 m and from there drop down its sides into open blue water, where big dentex and tuna pass and sharks or dolphins appear now and then.
Working around the shoal leads at one point to a rockfall of large boulders, home to big groupers. Damselfish, anthias, anemones and moray eels fill the gaps between the rocks, and the bottom of the dive lies at 36 m.
