Kaşkaval Burnu is a cape on Gökçeada where a rock wall drops into deep, clear water. Day dive boats crossing from Kabatepe on the mainland make it their first stop, and the cape takes little current, while the mountains above keep the wall in shade.

Also known as Kaşkaval, Kaskaval, Kaşkaval peninsula.

The dive

The wall sits under high ground, and the sun usually stays behind the mountains during a dive, so the bottom is a little dim. At around 30 m the rock face partly ends and gives way to boulders scattered through seagrass. Moray eels are active among the rocks, where sea breams of every kind can be seen.
