Mini Wall
A coral-covered wall rated friendly to newer divers
Area photo: Siharaditia · CC BY-SA 4.0
Mini Wall is a coral-covered wall in the central area of Komodo National Park, running down to a maximum of 30 m. The catalogue calls it a beginner-friendly site, which in a park built around current is worth noting, though the depth at the foot of the wall is past Open Water limits.
Where it is and how deep
8.4987° S, 119.7063° EPublished position for this site.
The dive
The topography is a single wall covered by corals, and the dive is as simple as that suggests: drop onto the top of it, pick a depth and follow the coral along. The wall bottoms out at 30 m, so a deeper pass at the start and a shallow return along the same face gives the profile its shape without needing to swim the site twice.
The catalogue rates it beginner friendly, which is unusual in Komodo and makes it a sensible early dive in a trip or a place to put divers who are still building confidence. Depth is the thing to manage rather than flow: the foot of the wall is beyond recreational entry-level limits, so newer divers stay high on the coral and let the wall do the work.
