Billinghurst Cave
An air chamber at the back of a vast cave in the cliff

A huge cave on Gozo's north coast near Reqqa Point, reached by swimming along the coast from the shore entry. It runs deep into the rock and ends in a pile of boulders and a small air chamber, a dive for experienced divers.

The dive
The cave cuts about 70 m into the rock of the north coast. Divers follow it inward to the end, where big boulders block the passage and a small air chamber opens above. Most of the dive is spent around 30 m, with a maximum of 35 m.

Season follows Malta & Gozo: Jun–Sep is the main season, with the sea averaging 21–26 °C; it never drops below 14 °C, so diving carries on through the winter.
